Who We are

People have been coming to Mount Elim for over 120 years. Since 1982, Mount Elim Evangelical Church has been meeting in the church building, to celebrate and make known the good news of Jesus Christ.

Mount Elim Evangelical Church was the vision of a group of people, including Dr Ken Barker, then a GP based in Pontardawe, and David Sercombe,  an RE teacher in Cwm Tawe Comprehensive School.

David Sercombe remains and elder at the church, alongside Alan Thomas who became an elder in 2016. Steffan Jones, originally from Ammanford, joined the church as Pastor in September 2012.

Mount Elim is a spiritual family, with a range of members of different ages and backgrounds. There is a genuine support and concern for one another.

This unity is centred around our love and worship of Jesus Christ. We live to serve and worship him, the one who came to this world to save and rescue the lost, and to give peace, hope and forgiveness.

We run a range of meetings and activities, all with the purpose of making Jesus Christ known. We believe that Jesus alone can give life to the full and so we wish to invite you to come along to find out more about this unique person.
